DEMONSTRATION MODEL SIMPLE GIRDER

MAKE- GEOAXIS

SPECIFICATION

     DEMONSTRATION MODEL SIMPLE GIRDER

The bow girder is a statically indeterminate to the third degree. The indeterminate reactions are vertical shear, bending moment and the twisting moment. The model is designed to draw influence lines for three-end reaction. This is achieved by giving known deflection to one of the ends of the bow girder and measuring the vertical displacement.

By using MULLER BRESLAU PRINCIPLE, the influence line ordinates are equal to the ratio of the vertical deflection to the respective of deformation given at the ends. Deformation at the end may be vertical deformation for shear forces, angular twist for twisting moment and angular slopes for bending moment
